From https://discourse.julialang.org/t/pythons-replace-faster-than-julias-replace/63180 we can see some users are finding julia's string processing speed unsatisfactory. So maybe worth adding julia support. Is there existing replace function that' s fast or should it be written using other functions?

There is no C-level replacement functionality, but there are convenience functions in the C++ binding. May be worth adding 🤔

As for Julia, I am not sure about how hard implementing a binding would be, as I've never worked with the language. Might be a good idea to implement it externally, as a 3rd party binding and potentially integrate afterwards. Would you like to try that?

This sounds very interesting and useful (I definitely want to do anything that will help Julia's string processing!)

Are there any issues using StringZilla with Julia's String not being always valid UTF-8? (It could still be used with my UTF8Str type, if so)
