Container image builds fail with cryptic error when specifying custom EBS volumes.

Hi, it's me again. When using the InstanceBlockDeviceMapping on container image builds, I get the following cryptic error message:

Error occurred during operation 'SSM execution 'a5e2558c-395b-45f4-8a08-164ae95564be' failed with 
status = 'TimedOut' in state = 'BUILDING' and failure message = 'Step timed out while step is Poll action 
status for completion. Please refer to Automation Service Troubleshooting Guide for more diagnosis details.'

I was trying to use a t2 instance type with a device name of /dev/sda1. The identical setup has long worked for me to build AMIs using ImageBuilder's CloudFormation functionality.
