AWS CloudFormation templates that provision Windows or Linux Amazon EC2 GUI (graphical user interface) instances running Amazon DCV remote display protocol server. Supports GPU driver install and AWS Deep Learning AMIs.
Amazon DCV is a high-performance remote visualisation protocol that enables users to securely connect to remote desktops in the cloud from any device. To use, install a desktop environment and desktop manager (Linux), install DCV server software, and remotely connect to the server using web browser or native client.
There is no additional charge to use DCV on Amazon EC2 if instance can access Amazon S3 endpoint for license verification.
The CloudFormation templates provision EC2 instances running DCV server with the following features:
- GNOME desktop environment (Linux)
- Amazon DCV server with most features implemented including
- HTML 5 web browser client
- Copy and Paste
- File transfer
- Managed virtual or console sessions (Linux)
- Valid IP address certificate
- Custom listen ports
- HTTPS reverse proxy for port 443 remote access (optional)

- NVIDIA GRID, Gaming, Tesla or AMD driver install (optional)
- NVIDIA Container Toolkit to run GPU-accelerated containers (optional)
- DCV GPU sharing (optional)

- EC2 Instance Connect browser-based SSH (Linux)
- Fleet Manager Remote Desktop browser-based RDP (Windows)
- EC2 IAM role for DCV license verification, Systems Manager, CloudWatch agent, and AWS X-Ray
