Recommend an efficient way to troubleshoot.

I'm trying to troubleshoot some changes I've made to this extensions.

I'm troubleshooting this by:

1. making a change to the code
2. uploading the tar'd source files into s3
3. restarting JupyterServer
4. viewing CloudWatch logs to view debug output
5. rinse and repeat

This is quite a lengthy process. Can someone suggest a quicker way to troubleshoot this extension?
