2016年年底，GTA4进行了一次更新，原有汉化补丁全部失效，随后无名汉化组立项四代汉化。<br>
2019年，无名汉化组因种种原因停工，贴吧吧友接棒，最终在三年之后完工，期间Steam上的GTA4也和单独发售的自由城之章合并为了完整版。<br>
今天，本体、TLAD、TBoGT三个部分以及游戏中的网页文本全部汉化完成，程序几经优化，译文再三润饰，新的汉化补丁终于和大家见面了。

style="font-size: 24px;">人</span>名是因为以前看的毛子小说中译本人名太长，同一个人名稍微变个形就认不出谁是谁了，所以对音译的毛子人名没什么好感。再加上之前3dm也没翻人名，索性顺延下来了。<br>以及，个人认为英文人名放在译文里很明显，读译文更省事一点，不用在一堆方块字里找主语宾语。
地名则是因为音译等于没翻译，意译约等于瞎翻译，而且方块字放在右下角的效果实在是有点……不符合原版英文字体的风格(原版右下角的字体比正常字体更窄)，就不翻译了。<br>个别地名在字幕中出现时还是翻了的，比如"鱼市""中心公园"和"龙心广场"。
如果对以上解释还不满意，只能说很大程度上是我的个人喜好导致4的新汉化再一次决定不翻译人名地名，就是这样。”

<li>0. <b>打开游戏根目录</b>，<b>确认</b> gtaiv.exe 的<b>版本号为1.2.0.xx</b>。并且至少运行一次原版游戏，确定游戏能够正常运行。
如果安装过降级汉化或是其他需要降级的Mod，进入游戏根目录删除所有文件，验证完整性重下游戏。避免降级汉化引入的多余文件影响正常游戏。</li>
<li>1. <b>将汉化补丁压缩包中的所有文件和文件夹解压到游戏根目录</b>，提示覆盖文件时全选覆盖。完成后 <b>dinput8.dll 应与 gtaiv.exe
处于同一文件夹</b>。
若根目录还有其他Mod附带的 dsound.dll，请删除 dsound.dll。其功能与 dinput8.dll 重复（用于挂载asi插件）。<br>
同时使用两者可能产生意料之外的Bug。</li>

- Steam Deck启动游戏后仍是英文
在启动项中添加
WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8.dll=n,b" %command%
- OS X系统使用CrossOver运行游戏，启动后仍是英文
将根目录的 `binkw32.dll` 改名 `binkw32Hooked.dll`。
再将汉化补丁附带的 `dinput8.dll` 改名 `binkw32.dll`。
Wine类的运行方式应该都可以这样解决，Steam Deck也可以。</pre>

<li>适用于<b>最新的GTA4完整版</b>（版本号为1.2.0.xx），未适配1.0.8.0及以下的本体和1.1.3.0及以下的独立版自由城之章。</li>
<li><b>无需破解/降级</b>，可解锁Steam和RGSC成就。</li>
<li>内核汉化，不影响性能。程序稳定无乱码，文字排版正常，浏览网页、回复邮件<b>不会崩溃</b>。</li>
<li>对原文理解尽量准确，译文尽量说人话，同时尽可能地保持原文风味。</li>
<li>做到了五代官方本土化都没做到的<b>网页全文本翻译</b>。由于汉化网页图片的工作量过大，故未汉化网页中以图片形式存储的文字（包括但不限于部分网页的小标题和正文）。</li>
<li>人名、地名、车名等4代<b>专有名词基本保留原文</b>，部分来自系列其他作品的地名会采用官中译名或民间习惯译名。</li>
<li>由于完整版移除了联机模式，故未汉化联机相关的文本。</li>
<li>部分邮件的正文中可能夹杂类似于「乱码」的无意义符号/字母/单词，<b>并非汉化Bug</b>，而是为了模拟垃圾邮件，原文即是如此。</li>

EndlessHorizon：自从接触游戏开始，就一直对游戏的汉化有些憧憬。逛贴吧时，正好看到了招新贴，就开始自己的第一次汉化之旅。进行汉化时，太多的俚语，是令我“头大”的部分，看美剧积累的还是太少了。多亏了群内大佬的帮助，才完成了属于自己的部分。这次的汉化之旅，不仅收获了很多朋友，也收获了很多英语的知识，也增进了对游戏的理解。最后想说，玩三合一终于不用啃生肉啦！！！

LCPD爱拉登：最开始只是想当个打工仔，交点初翻就跑路，拿捏不准的东西就瞎jb翻一下丢给校对头疼，结果做着做着自己就成文本头子了。文本只能说尽力去理解、表达、还原风味了，人名车名地名之类的实在没兴趣翻译，希望大家多看看翻译后的100w汉字，别老纠结那些字母。感谢程序爹Clans，解决了各种难题，实现了网页文本的导出汉化。感谢参与过汉化相关工作的每一个成员，积土成山终于有了今天的成品。最后还要感谢无名汉化组，留下了3D时代三部曲的汉化和四代汉化的相关资料和技术。也许以后的游戏大作都会自带官中，对民间汉化的需求也不会像过去那样旺盛，但无论是哪个领域，一定还会有那么一些人，在某个角落，为了自己的热爱，做着类似的事。

<li>如需迁移旧版存档的教程、修改汉化字体的方法、原版游戏常见Bug等资料，请参考载点中的赠品目录。</li>
<li>
目前程序方面应该没有影响游戏正常进行的Bug，包括视频编辑器在内的功能也可以正常使用。如果在游戏过程中遇到了黑屏、无限加载、无法正常完成任务等情况，请参考载点赠品目录中的「原版游戏常见Bug」尝试解决。这些是原版就有的问题，并非由汉化补丁引起。

<li>
若发现译文中存在错译漏译，错字漏字，或是人类无法理解的中文时，可以通过汉化导航页给出的渠道进行反馈。可能会在有生之年的第二版统一修正，也可能会在汉化补丁的资源载点里不定期追加汉化补丁的文本更新补丁。「翻译一下人名/地名/车名」的反馈会直接无视^^_

<li>删除 plugins 文件夹中的 GTA4.CHS.asi 或将后缀名改为其他内容即可关闭汉化。</li>
