Batocera build version
43.1 2026/05/30 20:06
Your architecture
Raspberry Pi 3 B+
Your Graphic Processor Unit(s) (GPU)
integrated
Issue description
During certain actions, such as scrolling in the RetroArch menu, the display would freeze, and dmesg would show several resetting GPU messages. This is a known issue with the Pi 3, although I am unsure if it has been fixed yet or if any workarounds work on Batocera.
Detailed reproduction steps
- Open any game that uses Retorarch
- Open the RetroArch menu
- Continuously scroll down until the display freezes
- SSH into the Pi and run dmesg to see the errors being shown
Details of any attempts to fix this yourself
I tried changing dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d to dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d, though that breaks audio
