How do other metadata/tag editors (e.g. picard) inteact with beets?

I've noticed that one album has some tracks tagged "albumname" and some "album name - disc 1". I know its possible to edit this using beet modify, but if i were to use another editor, such as picard, would that cause any issues with beets?

The underlying tag names are usually consistent between editors - what you're seeing here are just variations in how each editor displays them.
