DiskSweep v2.1.0

Developer-focused disk cleaner for macOS — scan caches, duplicates, and large files, visualize usage, and reclaim space from the menu bar. This release adds a full App Uninstaller.

✨ New — App Uninstaller

Remove an installed app and its leftover files in one audited operation, straight from the menu bar.

  • One-click removal — pick a third-party app; its bundle plus associated caches, logs, saved state, preferences, containers, group containers, and launch agents are gathered for you.
  • Safety-first defaults — the app and low-risk items are pre-selected; files that may contain your data (Application Support, Containers, Group Containers) are listed but unchecked by default — you opt in.
  • Entitlement-aware — group containers are resolved from the app's code-signing entitlements, never guessed by name.
  • Protected items respected — system launch daemons that need admin rights are shown read-only with Reveal in Finder; Apple system apps and DiskSweep itself are never listed.
  • Running-app handling — quits the app before trashing its bundle.
  • Confirmation step — review full paths and total size before anything moves.
  • Direct access — a new "Uninstall an App…" button in the menu bar popover opens straight to the Uninstaller.
  • Everything goes to the Trash (recoverable), never permanent deletion.

Also included

  • Cache Scanner — 20 developer & system cache categories, batch cleanup, incremental re-scan, smart recommendations.
  • Duplicate Detection — 6-stage progressive pipeline (size → inode → prefix → suffix → SHA-256 → APFS clone), smart selection, parallel hashing.
  • Large File Finder — configurable threshold + old-downloads detection.
  • Analysis Window (9 tabs) — Overview, Caches, Duplicates, Large Files, Space Explorer, Xcode, Dev Tools, and the new Uninstaller.
  • Export reports (PDF / CSV / text), Treemap, Xcode deep clean, Dev Tools (Docker / Homebrew / node_modules).
  • 8 languages, built-in update checker, Quick Look, drag & drop, VoiceOver accessibility, zero third-party dependencies.
