Reolink application doesn t works

I can install reolink client: https://home-cdn.reolink.us/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/180611101726639870.3437.exe?download_name=reolink_setup_8_17_6_0.exe but I can run it.. any advice?

Having the exact same issue where it exits out of starting the programs as soon as it tries to install the "sharp" module, more feedback as to what could be causing this would be very much appreciated!

I have gone full Linux Mint on my Dell Latitude Notebook (Win10 Pro) i5 4 threads and now my HP Desktop i9 (Win11 Pro) 32 threads. I struggles to get ReoLink going on my Notebook though bottles made it pretty easy. It does work great! OTOH failed miserably on my HP i9. I tried a side by side comparison of files and configuration and nada.

I am posting here because I did finally succeed it getting it going in a very non intuitive way, a way that I just knew would fail,...but it did not. Solution?

Formatted a thumb drive using EXT4 which THEY SAY supports linking. Then I simply copied the working ReoLink folder from my Notebook to the drive and then on to my HP Desktop in the corresponding location.

Works and I am clueless as to why it works now other than it appears to be hardware independent. It is really THAT simple?
