Text stretched when scaling an image

When printing 3of9 with the options:
includetext
width=1.5
height=.26
inkspread=0.3
textsize=9
They are shown with a squeezed font:

Then, playing around with the code at:
% Force symbol to given width
width 0 ne {
width 72 mul x div .6 scale
} if

Changing 1 to .6 on scale we have:

This reveals 2 problems. The changed code does not match the proper font ratio and dimensions and the height parameter lost its size relationship.

The issue is. How to print non squeezed font with small code sizes, since they do not exceed the code graphical length and have no reason to be compressed after all.
I believe it is somewhere regarding the text placement, but boy... My stack programming skills are really rusty... :)
