Thanks for the request, @same774 . This is something I am interested in implementing. I've had a go in the past at developing such a view, but have found it difficult. There seems to be a dearth of good gantt view libraries, which does not help. But it remains as something that I'd like to do! See issue #438 |

I think this feature would absolutely revolutionise the way we manage projects in obsidian and create the complete top to bottom connection that's missing. I think TaskNotes is uniquely positioned to implement this better than any other plugin.
Proposal
A GANTT-style view for tasks and linked projects, in addition to or replacing the current 'year' view - similar to dedicated project management apps. I see the best use case for this feature being through viewing linked projects over time, with tasks nested within allowing users to zoom out and see how their scheduled tasks fit into larger time-scales and contribute to bigger objectives.
YAML metadata like start date, estimated time etc. would completely govern the placing of notes on the timeline (as it does in the regular calendar views), allowing for changes to tasks and projects' dates to be instantly reflected on the timeline.
Reasoning
To me, the biggest advantage of managing my tasks and my notes (PKM-type stuff) all in one place is that I can use my notes, thoughts and knowledge to inform my actions, which take the form of projects and tasks, which, unlike notes, are grounded in time.
TaskNotes has already facilitated the much needed grounding of tasks in time, in a way I can connect my knowledge to it,
however I still feel as though the bigger actions like projects need a place to be grounded in time in the same way. TaskNotes' year view is a better solution than most, but I feel a truly horizontal view would make this app feel complete.
Current Workarounds
All the current GANTT solutions require manual input of dates for each event and none truly link to notes. This means one can create a visual solution, but not a dynamic one which changes automatically with changes to the Projects / Tasks.
It's a big feature request, but I think it would transform Obsidian
Absolutely love the plugin and how diligent you've been as a developer, thanks for making it and thanks for reading :)
