 Charles Noren is a PhD student at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute. He graduated from the Texas A&M University Aerospace Engineering Department in 2018 and was advised by Dr. John Valasek of the Texas A&M University Vehicle Systems & Control Laboratory. During his time at Texas A&M University and before joining Carnegie Mellon University, he worked at the NASA Langley Research Center in the Autonomy Incubator and the Autonomous Systems Integrated Research Branch.
 
 Charles' work focuses on control and estimation for off-road autonomous driving. He is also advised by Matthew Travers of the Carnegie Mellon University Biorobotics Laboratory. In his spare time, he enjoys working with the Carnegie Mellon University For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition (FRC) team 3504 "Girls of Steel", playing violin, and ballroom dancing.
