• this one's really big. i wonder what kind of pre-work can be done to break this down a bit.
• what kind of digital signature services, if any, can be used? what are the legal requirements here
  and how can we make sure we conform? open source options?
• storing docs alone will be one project(frontend to upload, send email/notifications once ready,
  store signed and unsigned side by side, expiry, etc)
• authentication bits will be interesting. can we assume that'll be done for us already?
• i'd say this is a large project for sure but very parallelizable.

Great questions. Definitely need more time to research all of this properly, I'm happy to be assigned as the go-to person during the hackathon to help participants that are interested in this project in particular.

Is possible to develop a blockchain based solution as an alternative to the digital signature?

I know the tech is super exciting, but I have recommend against attempting blockchain solutions for this particular challenge. Blockchain tech experimental, complex, very costly in terms of fees, and it'll take a long time for the university to accept it as a viable solution (if at all). It's a bit like trying to kill a mosquito with a bazooka.

Let's try to get to an MVP digital signature system instead! Here is a sample doc from Tecnológico de Monterrey's system – authorities at the USB told us they want something similar.
