Draft design requirements for user blocking and additional safety (client side only)

Commet currently lacks the ability to block users, personally I see this as a necessity for any chat system but if not that, at least for feature parity regarding other matrix clients. Ignore is a feature I like about discords chat but hadnt been included in any of the clients I have used so this would be a good standout feature for people transitioning from discord.

I've done my best to consider the full scope of requirements that this would involve and the associated settings to manage it but discussion will be needed if this or a variation is going to be implemented:

Blocking

• In public chats, a person who has blocked someone should not be able to see their messages, posts, or replies to other people.
• When others replying to the blocked user it should not show the original message but a "blocked user" message instead
• Prevent DMs or invites from the user
• DM threads with the blocked user should hide it from the regular area but not be deleted, instead be accessible from the management area in settings in the event that things need to be recalled like for evidence
• Blocking a user should hide the name from any results unless they are explicitly searched for (full username:homeserver) and contain a note about the user being blocked
• Do not show typing activity or any future rich-presence from the blocked user

Ignoring:

• Messages should be replaced with a "message from ignored user", possibly with the user profile greyscaled
• Have an option to reveal message, as ignore is not meant to replace or overlap as much with the block function
• Should be space specific, or room specific in cases where there is no larger encompassing space
• Time limit presets, 3-8-24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, indefinite (alternatively a field to enter a custom number and dropdown for day/week selection)

User management interface:

• Blocked user area: List the blocked users, have an X button to remove from list (this will remove the changes listed above and restore the DMs to the usual location)
• Export messages from DMs? (if this should be considered at all considering the supposed E2EE guarantee)
