Learning Mode helps new users practice proper finger placement by color-coding keys according to which finger should be used to press them. When enabled, keys are colored based on standard touch typing technique, providing a visual guide that makes it easier to develop proper typing habits.
- Open OverKeys
- Right-click the OverKeys icon in the system tray
- Select Preferences
- Go to the Learn tab
- Toggle the Enable Learning Mode option
- Learning Mode takes precedence over custom color settings
- Thumb keys (bottom row) use the "Key(not pressed)" color setting from the Colors tab
- You can toggle Learning Mode on/off without affecting your saved color preferences
- When disabled, OverKeys will return to using your custom color settings
