Unable to push a new branch, request for contribution access or contribution guidance.

Hi there,

I’m interested in contributing to this repository and have started working on an improvement locally. While following the contribution instructions, I noticed that I don’t have permission to push a new branch, which prevents me from opening a pull request.

It seems the current documentation may be misleading, as it suggests pushing branches to the main repo, but external contributors lack the necessary permissions.
