Changelog seems unmaintained?

I see the published version is 6.0.0 however the changelog file stops at "5.7.0 (unreleased)". Is there a plan or intention to keep it updated? If not I'd suggested noting in the file that it's for historical context only and doesn't reflect the current state.

thanks for the callout @tfe - we were maintaining a changelog both in code & in github releases. #143 will consolidate that down to just GH Releases
