I have been looking for a good free (preferably open source) equalizer for nearly a year now and today finally stumbled onto your masterpiece! It's by far the most versatile, seamless and least finicky equalizer I have come across so far. One small bug I have found is that when using it in shared memory mode, which has been a great experience by the way, when I turn the volume all the way down the volume doesn't mute completely. So when my Macbook's volume is at 0% there still comes sound out my speakers / headphones, at really low volume but not silent (like 1% volume). This is fixed when putting it into HALL input mode but it would be great if this also be fixed on shared memory mode, as far as I'm aware with limited coding knowledge it shouldn't be a too complicated fix.
I don't know where I should put my suggestions but it might be nice to have something like a priority for connected devices so when I disconnect my headphones it automatically switches to my macbook speaker (it sometimes also switches to something else like blackhole). I have the app called AudioPriorityBar but it interferes with Equaliser.
Another thing that would be nice and I believe not so hard to implement is a mode that automatically switches your EQ profile based on which output it is connected to. For example: when connecting to my IEM's via the headphone jack it switches to the EQ preset I have for my IEM's, but when I connect my dac with my headphones it switches to my headphone's EQ profile.
A similar but more advanced feature that I would love to see somewhere in the future would be the detection of different headphones based on resistance. When connecting my IEM's for example to my Macbook it recognizes it (I believe by the resistance) and it switches to the volume I set for the IEM's but when I connect my headphones it switches to a different volume that I last set for my headphones.
I really hope you continue this project I'm incredibly excited where this will lead. I will maybe look at trying to vibecode some solutions in the meantime.
These are primarily some quality of life feature and not serious bugs so no worries, this is an amazing product for someone working alone in their spare time.
I wish you the best with this project !
