Encoding a simple 440 Hz Sine

Hi.

I just performed this test:

1. I generated a 5 seconds sine wave of 440 Hz, with an amplitude of 1.
2. I converted the ByteArray into a 16 Bit (half precision) ByteArray, Encoded and saved it to a WAV file
3. I Encoded the WAV ByteArray with Shine-MP3-Encoder and the result is something very wierd. a low frequency sine plus noise, with a stong attack.

What could be the problem?
