Hi @Grip,

Thanks for reporting this! This is actually not a bug in the component itself, but a deprecation warning related to CSS selectors configured by you.

The soupsieve library (used by BeautifulSoup for CSS selectors) is deprecating the :contains pseudo-class in favor of :-soup-contains.

To fix this warning:

Check your multiscrape configuration in configuration.yaml (or wherever you have your multiscrape config) and look for any CSS selectors using :contains.

Replace :contains with :-soup-contains

Example:

# Before (causes the warning)
select: "div:contains('some text')"

# After (no warning)
select: "div:-soup-contains('some text')"

Note: The :contains() pseudo-class is not part of the official CSS specification - it's a non-standard extension provided by soupsieve/BeautifulSoup. Standard CSS doesn't have a text-matching selector like this.

I searched in my scraping configuration (I made a multiscrape.yaml file to keep it tidy) but there's no scrape with the "div:contains" part...

they all use a syntax like the ones ahead:

or

select: "body > table > tbody > tr > td > div.respodesk > div > table:nth-child(5)"

what can it be?
