Description: A curated dataset of pricing information for major SaaS software categories, verified March 2026. Covers CRM, dev tools, AI/ML platforms, HR tech, e-commerce platforms, design tools, marketing automation, and more.

• Business and economic relevance — software pricing is a major operational cost for organizations worldwide
• High demand for pricing benchmarks — companies regularly need to evaluate tool costs

• Regularly updated (verification date included per entry)

License possibility: The free sample is available under CC0 — suitable for open data.

Scope: Currently covers 10+ SaaS categories with 50-100 vendors each. The free sample (50 tools) could serve as a starter dataset.

This addresses a real gap — there is no openly maintained, regularly updated SaaS pricing dataset in core-datasets currently.

Hi, this proposal overlaps with an open dataset I maintain, so it might be useful here: the Shortlist Price Index.

It tracks the cheapest paid plan per provider across eleven software categories (cloud backup, web hosting, SEO tools, website builders, antivirus, newsletter tools, password managers, VPN, learning platforms, travel eSIMs and ATS/recruitment software), with a Dutch mirror in EUR for five of them. Monthly snapshots since June 2026, CC BY 4.0. For web hosting, VPN and cloud backup the prices are read automatically from each vendor's live pricing page, with per-month coverage reporting; the other categories are hand-curated guide prices while the automated pipeline rolls out, and the README is explicit about which is which.

If a different shape would fit this collection better (one merged CSV, a schema file), happy to add it.
