Sorry @axellpadilla and @Benjamin-Knight you both should have been added as admin. You'd be better off pushing into here. Happy to contribute but we have started a move off MSSQL so I'll be background at this point. |

I want to extend my sincere thanks to the previous maintainers. I completely understand that life and work get busy, making it difficult to keep up with the rigorous pace of performance tuning and bugfixes required for an adapter like this.
We have collaborated with @Benjamin-Knight on several PRs, but as many are still pending and the ecosystem is moving fast, most of us have resorted to installing directly from public repo URLs to get essential patches. Because there are several modern capabilities I want to implement—such as exploring native mssql-python (deprecating ODBC for performance), ensuring Python 3.13/3.14 compatibility, and staying strictly aligned with dbt-core releases—I am moving these efforts into a dedicated community repository.
The intent remains open: I would love to share these capabilities upstream if the maintainers return or grant permissions. However, the immediate goal for this new repo is velocity. We will be publishing correctly to PyPI so the community has a reliable, versioned alternative to the "GitHub install" method.
I invite you to join the new home for this project. We are currently in the process of full implementation—welcome aboard!
