I've had the same thoughts, whilst there are technically a large number of changes the public facing API hasn't really changed in this release, all the backend may be different there are no new features. Whilst this is an improvement and could qualify it for a minor version bump I think the convention that DBT adapters have the same major and minor versions as the DBT core version they support is both encouraged by DBT themselves and expected by the community and this isn't a big enough of a change to warrant deviating from that. Especially as I think we will be doing a 1.10 release quite shortly after the the 1.9 release. |

@Benjamin-Knight I was thinking a little about the changes in the upcoming version, I think there are a lot of big changes removing dbt-fabric, following semantic versioning this -could- mean we should move forward to v1.10, even feels ok because this is now compatible with dbt core from v1.10 to v1.11 and dependencies were already loosened what you think?
