Question: Has this been abandoned? #4

Looking through the history of this repository, it appears that although in the past it accomplished much, at this point it only allows one to swipe down to see the time, or swipe up to run some .sh (of which I have not been able to discern the purpose), without any remaining option to switch modes or activate/deactivate other functions.

Am I correct? If so, should one expect this project will not receive further attention, or is it hoped that some of the inline TODOs, and perhaps other unwritten possibilities, may come to fruition?

Why I ask:

  • I would adore a gesture to go straight to the page overview, and would likewise be a big fan of one which would go to the text options screen, when applicable. However, since neither of these is directly tied to a specific button push, I am unsure how I might adapt this code base to such use, being personally unfamiliar with what hooks the OS, launcher, and other interface elements may expose. Your work with pen movement and pressing may allow for scripted actions, but with the TODO labels I see, I suspect not at this time.
  • I see that a couple revisions back you removed all tapping actions, but didn't document anything other than the fact of the removal itself. I know I would sometimes find it beneficial to tap in a narrow range of locations for certain actions to be accomplished, but since your reasons for disabling this are currently opaque to me, it doesn't seem like a great idea to undo what you've already undone if it may have been from finnickiness or other implementation problems.
  • I can see from some forks that others have worked to adapt this to check for which hardware version is in use at runtime, but these don't appear to have provided binaries for their forks, or even to have updated their install scripts to point anywhere but your own hosted URL(s). Given this, it appears this may have waning support even within the broader community, taken in concert with my other observations above. It seems prudent to understand your disposition toward the project before making decisions about how I'll proceed personally, since for the time being I lack the freedom of time to dedicate more than a tinkerer's investment to my own possible implementation.

P.S. Overall, this is a pretty exciting project for me, and I'm glad you've spent the time I can see you've invested up until now, even if you're finished. ❤
