1. Shopping Cart Service

Status: ✅ COMPLETE

Implemented Features:

  • Redis-based cart storage with 7-day TTL

7. Order Saga Orchestration

Status: ✅ COMPLETE

Current Limitations

  1. API Gateway not yet implemented (services exposed directly)
  2. Authentication not enforced (security currently permissive for development)
  3. No distributed tracing setup yet
  4. Integration tests not yet comprehensive
  5. Frontend not yet started

Lessons Learned

  1. Redis for Cart: Excellent choice for session-based cart storage with TTL
  2. Liquibase: Clean database versioning and migration management
  3. MapStruct: Reduces boilerplate for DTO mapping
  4. Dual Payment Modes: Mock mode essential for development/testing
  5. Event-Driven: Kafka provides good decoupling between services
