Unicode char are not shown

Describe the bug
Unicode character are not shown evne by using a font (Noto mono) that should fully support them.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Go to Settings -> Terminal ->Terminal Font, select Noto Mono
2. Then on the terminal execute the attached script to test a bit of unicode support

Expected behavior
I expect that ucode char are shown like in the following screenshot (from another terminal)

I'm hitting same issue via a characters shown through a SSH connection. I've tested all the fonts available and nothing fixed this issue. And with the local terminal using zsh + git plugin, unicode characters used by the shell are only more or less displayed only with DejaVu Sans Mono, not with the other fonts.

In jediterm, I just put a fallback font, Noto Emoji, to support the unicode characters. The problem is the font is a monochrome font.
It's a workaround while I see what is the real issue.
