GA4 ‐ Finding Agency Specific Data

moreno-e-gsa edited this page Apr 23, 2025 · 1 revision

How to Find Your Agency's Data

Below is information on how to go about finding basic metrics for you agency and domain. There are multiple reports within GA4 that provide a wealth of information. The information below will focus on two reports and how to drilldown to find those metrics. The same principles can be applied throughout the other GA4 reports. As always feel free to reach out to our helpdesk at dap@gsa.gov for any assistance.

All Pages Report

  • Views, sessions, uses, and other metrics by hostname and page path and screen class

This report will give you information related to the pages on your site. In order to find your page(s) metrics you have two options to use: Search or Filters. To use the search option, found in the middle of the page, you can place the full page path to find a single page. Or a partial page path to view subpages of the path. Do not include the domain such as www.abc.com/abc only /abc.

When using the search option you can only search for whichever dimensions are shown in the table. You can only have up to two dimensions for the table but you are able to change the dimension type.

A note to keep in mind is if you are searching for a page path called /news/. There is almost 99% chance there will be another domain that has the same page path as that. To remove the unrelated domains we have to use the filters.

In the example below I would like to view pages under the path /news/ on the marines.mil site. To do so select the filter option under the All Pages title in the middle top of the page. Once pressed a filter panel should appear to the right. I apply two filters one for the Hostname and one for the Page Path.

Note: There are other areas highlighted that are important to note as well. Ensure you are under the right property and have selected the correct time frame.

After pressing Apply the table will display the filtered metrics if available.

Domain Report

  • Views, sessions, uses, and other metrics by hostname and sub-agency

Under Detailed Reports is also the Domains Report. Here you will find metrics solely related to your domain. No page information is displayed under this report. In similar fashion to the All Pages report you can use the search option or filter to find metrics on your domain.
