JSON SERIALIZATION CONSUMING A WEB SERVICE

Hi everyone, who can read this, is there any way to develop components for vb.net?

Lately I have been investigating if there is any way to optimize notifications and if JSON serialization can be implemented, since I need to consume some web services, perhaps to receive messages every time I open a window, since there are no web sockets.

What do you mean by "components"?

If you mean .NET custom JSON serializers, they require support for a certain kind of structure that isn't in VB. You can write those serializers in C# for your VB classes though.

You can probably find more practical help using VB here.

This repo is very narrowly for language design/specification issues.

I don't quite understand what you mean. If you need JSON serialization and deserialization, you can use newtonsoft.json or system.text.json from nuget.org。It can support web cross platform very well.

@benyuz VB.Net can't use all overloads of System.Text.JSON.

Utf8JsonReader cannot be used from VB.NET, so any API that exposes it directly is effectively unusable in VB.

• Since JsonConverter(Of T).Read takes a Utf8JsonReader, you cannot implement custom System.Text.Json converters in VB.NET or call the Read methods of converters from VB code.
