Crash when dismissing the scan in progress notification manually

The application crashes if the scan in progress notification is manually dismissed by the user, as the program attempts to close an already invalid notification handle.

It seems notify-rust doesn't currently support a workaround for this issue. See hoodie/notify-rust#199.
