This is all the commits previously on master and various PRs which added pure python capability to the transformation pipeline.
It turned out our test coverage was sufficiently low, and the difference with SQL sufficiently great, that it was taking too long to iterate a completely-working solution in our current infrastructure.
We will return to this when we have more time!
