Cannot find class 'org.junit.platform.commons.annotation.Testable' on project build path.

• I'm testing the latest Eclipse I-build and running JUnit Tests from a JUnit Plug-in Test configuration.
• My workspace target is https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.38-I-builds/4.38.0.I20251112-1800

When I select JUnit5 from the drop-down I can't run the tests because of the error - "Cannot find class 'org.junit.platform.commons.annotation.Testable' on project build path."

Please check which JUnit version is on classpath. If you have no version limits, JUnit 6 libraries will be used and that would not play well with JUnit 5 test runner.
So if you want use JUnit 5, set limits on upper version of jUnit bundles so JUnit 6 is not used.

I see you don't have platform-commons on classpath. Is there any reason you don't use JUNIT5 container on classpath like

There is N&N entry coming soon (just merged #2131).

We should understand & document what kind of problem you have, and if soution for it is not listed on #2131 we should improve N&N.

I found one more strange thing. We have a plug-in that uses the GraalVM JS engine. When I call this it cannot find the engine:

ScriptEngine engine = new ScriptEngineManager().getEngineByName("graal.js");

This must be some classloader problem.
