No way to install release-version of Terminal Session Support for Eclipse" using "Install new software"

I previously installed this from an I-Build as described in https://eclipse.dev/eclipse/markdown/?f=news/4.37/platform.md#support-launching-with-a-terminal-console, but the mentioned link doesn't work anymore.

I think the required plugin is org.eclipse.debug.terminal.

To reproduce:

Use "Install new software"
Choose "2025-12 - https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2025-12"
Search for "Terminal"
=> Only "Terminal Feature" is available.

But "Terminal Session Support for Eclipse" is missing

Or am i overlooking something?

From the update descriptor I see the "Terminal" feature is a replacement for the older feature IDs.

I see these in the Platform's I-build but the Platform did not contribute that to SimRel:

SimRel RC2 is now final.

My personal workaround was to use copy it from my previous eclipse version using the command "Import (From existing installation)".

I've tried both

https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.38-I-builds/
https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.39-I-builds/

as installation locations in "Install new software" and cannot see "Terminal Session Support for Eclipse" in either of them.

Who needs to get active so this will work in 4.39? Do I have to report this somewhere else?

I just noted, it appears if i select "Group items by category" like you did.

Choose "2025-12 - https://download.eclipse.org/releases/2025-12"
Search for "Terminal"
=> Only "Terminal Feature" is available.

Please note that this is NOT available in the release repository (as it is more a preview feature and not well tested).

So as you correctly noted you now need to use the

https://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/4.39-I-builds/

as a repository and then you can install it.

If you think it would be worth to be contributed to the simrel, then we need to open a ticket here so it can be included (e.g. for 2026-03): https://github.com/eclipse-simrel/simrel.build/issues

So the only thing left here would be we likely should update the repository link in the N&N entry.

Thanks, I created a ticket there.

The other issue is that we discovered that this is actually not visible in the I-Builds repository unless "Group items by category" is selected.

Does anybody know in which project I should report this?
