In eclipse-platform/eclipse.platform.ui#3855 @iloveeclipse suggested to use the "modern" Color constructor.

If that one is what we recommend we should deprecate the old one.

Sounds reasonable. But we need to keep in mind that there is probably quite some code that uses the old constructors, so that a deprecation will introduce warnings to them. I am not sure if this is something we want to accept.
Anyway, we would have to replace all usages of those constructors in at least the SDK first.

Consider that there are likely 10,000,000 such cases in the downstream ecosystem and that 5,000,000 are probably wanting to have code that is significantly backward compatible. I'm not saying we shouldn't do it, I'm just saying that this doesn't necessarily provide actual value for the community as a whole and that we might invest effort where the return of investment would be appreciated by the users and the downstream ecosystem instead of "it's for your safety and comfort" when it's kind of irrelevant actually not really more comfortable...
