The Compose Discover rule-authoring wizard now disables the Form/YAML and Alert/Signal toggles while the query sandbox is open, restyles footer navigation (Back far-left, Cancel removed, Create/Save stays primary), and always shows the Name/Description fields (removing the 'Add description' toggle for all rule forms). The prior assessment assumed Alerting v2 had no docs and pointed at the classic (v1) create-manage-rules page; docs-content PR #6523 now has a dedicated create-esql-rule.md page describing the form/YAML toggle and sandbox, superseding that v1 reference.
Why this needs docs: create-esql-rule.md (PR #6523) already documents that 'You can switch between form and YAML at any time, unless the YAML can't be translated to a valid form state' and describes the sandbox's Apply flow, but it does not mention that the Form/YAML and Alert/Signal toggles are disabled while the sandbox is open, which a user would hit as an apparently-broken control if undocumented, and create-a-rule.md's creation-path table doesn't mention the wizard's footer navigation or the now-always-visible description field.
What the docs say: "You can switch between form and YAML at any time, unless the YAML can't be translated to a valid form state, in which case you must stay in YAML." No mention of the query sandbox affecting toggle availability.
What to add: This page (still in open docs-content PR [Alerting V2][Serverless & 9.5][M2] Add experimental alerting features rules pages #6523) doesn't mention that the Form↔YAML toggle and the Alert↔Signal toggle are disabled whenever the query sandbox flyout is open (with a 'Close the query editor to switch views' tooltip), which would otherwise look like a bug to a user trying to switch views mid-edit. Applies from 9.5.0 (experimental) and in serverless (experimental).
