ROCCAT Kova AIMO (1e7d:2cf3) - "Step 1: Invalid result" on startup with experimental drivers enabled

Hi,
I'm testing Eruption on Fedora Linux with a ROCCAT Kova AIMO mouse (USB ID 1e7d:2cf3). The daemon starts correctly, and I have enabled experimental drivers via the config file.

However, the device doesn't work, and the logs show:

** EXPERIMENTAL DRIVERS are ENABLED, this may expose serious bugs! **
Step 1: Invalid result

System info:

OS: Fedora Linux (up to date)

Eruption installed via COPR

Config: driver_maturity_level = "experimental" in /etc/eruption/eruption.conf

The device shows up in lsusb as:

Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1e7d:2cf3 ROCCAT ROCCAT Kova Aimo
