I want to use it in Positron (a fork of VSC by Rstudio for R and Python). Positron only has access to OpenVSX extensions and not to original Microsoft extensions due to licensing reasons. Some instructions are available here.

Hey there @archiewood, I'm Filip and work on the Open VSX project. It's amazing to see your desire for publishing on https://open-vsx.org, and it would be even more amazing, if this could all be done from this repo, so that you own the publishing process from end to end, and also optionally mark the extension as "verified" on the marketplace.

In https://github.com/EclipseFdn/publish-extensions, where the linked PR was raised, we try to reduce the amount of extensions, which we have to publish and there are docs we've written for a simple setup with GitHub Actions.

I'm more than happy to answer any questions regarding the process that may arise
