Concerns about the maintenance status of this library

I rely on this library in production across several projects, and I've noticed that a significant number of pull requests have been open for a long time without being reviewed or merged.

With MUI v9 already out and this library still on v6, I think it's fair to raise the question: is this project still actively maintained?

I have no intention of criticizing anyone — I fully understand that maintainers have lives and other commitments. However, I believe the community deserves some clarity. If the current maintainer is no longer able to dedicate time to this project, it might be worth considering appointing additional maintainers or establishing an official fork, so that the library can continue to evolve.

Would love to hear thoughts from both the maintainer and the community.
