## 📝 Event Description
13+
14+
The **COMET (Collaborative Metadata Enrichment Taskforce) Community Meeting** brings together researchers, infrastructure developers, and open science advocates to advance community-led metadata enrichment using trusted, persistent identifiers. During the April meeting, two developments will be presented that, together, illustrate the COMET model in practice.
15+
16+
The first presentation introduces **posters.science**, a free and open-source platform being developed by our team to extract rich, structured metadata from scientific posters to make them FAIR and AI-ready. COMET will collaborate on this project to bring enriched poster metadata into DataCite DOI records, building on the recent release of **DataCite Metadata Schema version 4.7**, which introduces "poster" as a supported resource type.
17+
18+
The second presentation features the **DataCite product team** walking through DataCite's new enrichment layer with a live example, covering its data model, provenance values, additive design, and available API endpoints.
19+

24+
**Bhavesh Patel** will co-present with **Jamey O'Neill** a talk introducing **[posters.science](https://posters.science)**, a platform designed to address the inconsistencies in how scientific poster metadata is captured, improving their discoverability and attribution by making them FAIR and AI-ready.

## 📝 Event Description
13+
14+
The **2026 Bridge2AI Spring All-Hands Meeting** brings together the Bridge2AI consortium and the broader biomedical research community for a two-day meeting at the NIH Neuroscience Center. Chaired by Dr. Mónica Muñoz Torres and Dr. Yulia Levites Strekalova, this year's meeting is themed **"From Data to Wisdom"**, reflecting the program's evolution from foundational data infrastructure toward tangible results and a broader collaborative community.
15+
16+
The NIH Common Fund's **Bridge to Artificial Intelligence (Bridge2AI)** program was established to address the AI-readiness gap in biomedical data and promote the ethical use of AI in behavioral and medical research. Now in its fourth year, the meeting will highlight landmark data releases and tools developed across the consortium, as well as contributions from early-career researchers through poster presentations and talks.
17+
18+
Bridge2AI is extending an open invitation to the broader community. If you work in biomedical informatics, AI/ML for healthcare, translational data science, or clinical research, you are welcome to attend. More information and registration are available on the [meeting website](https://bridge2ai.org). Registration closes April 15, 2026.

## 📝 Event Description
13+
14+
The **Software Citation Workshop** at UC San Diego brings together researchers, developers, and open science advocates to advance best practices for citing software in scholarly work. The workshop covers topics including software metadata standards, FAIR principles for research software, and tooling to support software citation across disciplines.
15+
16+
More details are available on the [workshop website](https://softwarecitationworkshop.ucsd.edu/).

## 💡 Our Role / Contribution
19+
20+
**Bhavesh Patel** will deliver a **flash talk titled "Codefair.io: an open source and free software for easily making GitHub repositories FAIR"** during Session 2 of the flash talks. The talk will introduce [Codefair.io](https://codefair.io), a free and open source tool that helps researchers make their GitHub repositories compliant with FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) software principles with minimal effort. In particular, Codefair includes a workflow to easily archive source code on Zenodo to get a DOI and maintain a CITATION.cff file for software, both of which are extremely relevant to software citation.
21+
22+
Bhavesh will also participate in different hands-on activities organized around software citation over the four days of the workshop.
