I just wonder if it should be a different flag or compiled as a feature so the flags remain the same e.g. no flags. I'm up for other ideas too.

I think it even makes more sense for magika to be the default, and put the magic number stuff behind a flag like --from-bytes ▰▰▰▰▰ Miles Wirth 🙃

I'd be open to trying something like that to see how it goes, although it would be a breaking change.

Before 1.0.0 nothing is "breaking" imo. Do you want me to PR this?

Sure, let's keep the default and have --magika for the new option. We may switch these defaults around later.
