Bug: WindowsJumpListService > max items exceeded

Description

My log is producing many of the same errors:

Maximum number of items exceeded.
   at Files.App.Services.WindowsJumpListService.AddFolderAsync(String path)
2025-09-23 06:59:17.1293|Warning|System.ArgumentException: The parameter is incorrect.

The app frequently hangs up doing pretty any operation. Any ideas what to do?

Steps To Reproduce

There isn't a way to reproduce the bug since the app hangs up doing anything.

Thanks for the report, that wouldn't be the cause of Files freezes and is fixed with #17564, what are you doing when it freezes

I just cleared out the pinned locations from my jump list and cleared a bunch of other locations that were stored there. So far it seems to be working better. I will reply later today if it goes the whole day without any issues.

There isn't any 1 action that would cause the freeze, but instead I would experience a freeze every few minutes or so while using the application. I've experienced freezes during the application startup, opening a new tab, switching tabs, opening the settings menu, deleting files, etc... Literally any action. But it wasn't 100% consistent, i.e., it would not always hang up on the same action.

This has fixed the issue; no freezes at all yesterday. I've started pinning locations again today and will keep an eye on any specific location causing the freezes. Otherwise, this issue can be closed.
