## MCP-Compatible Environment Setup Guides (Context7 Coverage)

The following guides provide a consistent setup flow for popular MCP-compatible environments. For each environment:

- **Prerequisites**: Node.js 18+ and a valid `FIRECRAWL_API_KEY`
- **Install command**: `npx -y firecrawl-mcp`
- **Verification**: Confirm the Firecrawl MCP server appears and tools (e.g. `firecrawl_scrape`) are available

### 1) Claude Desktop

**Prerequisites**

**Installation**
1. Open Claude Desktop config file.
2. Add/update `mcpServers.firecrawl` with the reusable server block above.
3. Save and restart Claude Desktop.

**Verification**
- Open Claude Desktop and confirm Firecrawl tools are available.
- Run a quick scrape request (for example, scrape `https://example.com`).

### 2) Claude Code

**Prerequisites**
- Claude Code installed
- MCP configuration enabled

**Installation**
1. Open Claude Code MCP settings.
2. Add a server named `firecrawl` using the reusable server block.
3. Restart Claude Code session.

### 3) Cursor

### 24) Deno Runtime-based Setup

**Prerequisites**
- Deno installed

**Installation**
1. Configure your MCP client with the Firecrawl server command and env as above.
2. Save configuration and restart client.

**Verification**
- Firecrawl tools appear and execute successfully.

### Troubleshooting (All Environments)

- Ensure Node.js is available on your `PATH` (`node -v`, `npx -v`).
- Validate API key is set correctly (no extra quotes/spaces).
- Restart the client after config changes.
- If startup fails, run directly in terminal:

env FIRECRAWL_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY npx -y firecrawl-mcp
```

If this command works but your client does not, the issue is usually client config path/JSON shape.

### System Configuration

The server includes several configurable parameters that can be set via environment variables. Here are the default values if not configured:
