Describe the Bug

On attempt to sync I receive an error:
! e.include is not a function

What this means? I haven't tried to recreate the profile(s) yet. No changes to my profile(s) settings.

Expected Behavior

To work as usual. I used it for a long time with the same profile(s) and WebDAV host/service.

To Reproduce

It started happening with all of my floccus profiles recently only in the Android app.
Firefox and Chromium add-on work as expected with the same WebDAV host.

Did you have the Android app profiles set up already had them in a working state and then the problem appeared suddenly or did you just set them up from scratch and it has never worked for you?
I'll try to reproduce.

I could not reproduce this offhand, sadly. From where did you install the android app? Google play, Github/Obtainium, or F-Droid?

I installed it from Github by Obtainium in August, 2025. Updated on Apr, 2026.
Not sure if this appeared with a version change, I didn't notice it.

The same error shows on all my five profiles created when I initially installed the app (see above). No changes since then.
it usually throw it 2-3 sec. after I tap sync.
I plan to try recreating one to see what will happen.

I'm not a developer, so curious to find what this error means, where the problem can be.

Edit/Update:
This is what I tried, still the same behaviour:

• restarted the phone
• clear cache and data of the app
• completely uninstall and reinstall the app
• tried older versions of the app
• imported previosly saved profiles
• created new profile(s) from scratch

So, I'm ready to accept the problem is something with my WebDAV service, but it worked before and it stil works perfectly with my desktop browsers as add-on.

I have more info.
Today I set a self-hosted WebDAV server (https://github.com/vaggeliskls/webdav-server) and below is what works and what not:

• Chrome and Firefox extensions works both for local and behind the reverse proxy (Caddy) with Let's Encrypt cert. to my owned domain.
• Floccus seems to work only with basic auth. and not with digest auth.
• Android app works for local (HTTP) but when I try to set for HTTPS it generate Error E017.
• Deleted and reinstalled the Android app many times, created the profile(s) fro scratch - still the same E017.

Android app needs some GUI improvements:

• When creating a profile from scratch if I need to check my encryption password correctly typed I need to hide the keyboard, the settings page is not scrollable.
• On deleting/removing profile I often ended with back screen, no way to go back, closing and re-opening the app didn't help. I have to clean app data and start from scratch or import profile(s).

OK. Found a fix for error E017. Looks like that Android's SSL implementation is strict and requires the reverse-proxy server to send the full chain (Server Cert + Intermediate CA Certs) and the problem was my cert doesn't include intermediate cert with Caddy conf.

So, my self-hosting solution works well and I'll stick to it. However, still curious what the initially mentioned error ! e.include is not a function means.

This will be fixed in the next release, thank you for mentioning it, though!

Yes, floccus is not intended to be used with digest auth.

However, still curious what the initially mentioned error ! e.include is not a function means.

It ussually means that a variable that was expected to have a certain value at development time did actually not have a value at runtime. It's not a great error message for the end user.
