Line breaks are not properly parsed

This issue was originally filed against the official flutter_markdown package.
The package has since been discontinued and ownership transferred to flutter_markdown_plus.

I want to use line breaks in text. See below.

Hello ABC, <br/> I would like to thank you....

However when I use try with the Markdown widget, it just shows plain text like above.

I tried double space, but it still wasn't properly parsed.

Maybe the root cause is the underlying Dart markdown library?

print(markdownToHtml(data));

The output is <p>Hello ABC, &lt;br/> I would like to thank you....</p>
if use <br /> instead of <br/>, result is <p>Hello ABC, <br /> I would like to thank you....</p>

I can reproduce this issue with flutter_markdown: ^0.6.6 and stable 2.2.3 and master 2.6.0-1.0.pre.152.

However, I cannot say for certain whether or not the issue is from flutter_markdown or the underlying
markdown dart package because as stated above, the <br/> isn't properly parsed but <br /> is, although no line breaks occur in the text.

I find that the Markdown widget supports neither <br/> nor <br />.

I know it's not an HTML renderer, but there should be some way to insert line breaks (not just paragraph breaks) and the most obvious and standard way is by looking for <br/> and <br /> (outside code contexts).

No, this should support be a guiding how to define the specs, since we actually need \n\n\n need supported out of box, but flutter claims this is none of their business.

It's better at least, give us some hint how to support the \n\n\n rather than trim it
