Issue installing on Intellij Ultimate 2025.2.1

A user has a problem installing on IntelliJ Ultimate 2025.2.1 on Windows. After installing AppMap package (with bundled binaries) there is a message box with error:

java.nio.file.AccessDeniedException:
C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2025.2\plugins\intellij-appmap\resources\appmap-win-x64-3.196.0.exe

the plugin then gets uninstalled, according to the user. The file apparently does exist there and can be executed from the command line.

The same package works on community edition on the same machine.

I think that this happens when the older version is unloaded while the IDE is running to install a newer version without a restart. The access denied exception is typically caused by the uninstall attempt while the executable is still in use.
Commit ca3970d is supposed to fix this. It should be available in the latest version.
But because this is only in use if the latest update is loaded, the update of an older version still fails.

To fix this:

• stop the IDE
• terminate all processes appmap-win-x64-3.196.0.exe
• Delete C:\Users...\AppData\Roaming\JetBrains\IntelliJIdea2025.2\plugins\intellij-appmap
• Start the IDE and install the latest version

If my assumptions are not correct of if this does not fix it, I'd need more information. For example the idea.log file and the version of the AppMap plugin.
