Thanks so much for sharing this with us. It's very encouraging. And it turns out there has been quite a lot of work ongoing to get The secrets-story of course will still require dbus, but maybe something can be done about that as well when the time comes. |

I want to adopt gitbutler for my team. However, the team members OS are spread across linux, windows (using WSL) and osx.
Linux and OSX are well served by the UI, but it isn't the case for WSL. Here we would need a web UI accessed through the localhost. Many modern tools are like this now: vscode (to some extent with coder), opencode, lightjj, etc..
Gitbutler is so close. I could run
but-serverand the frontend in WSL. Some things are broken like the file picker and dbus secret store integration (since I have no desktop environment..), but I could clone to a Linux path most features seemed to work. I feel like adding abut servecommand is maybe half a day away with an agent and would greatly improve the WSL experience as well as enable the often requested remote work option.Beta Was this translation helpful?
