"command not found" after installation

Hi,

I'm on macOS 14.7.5

~ % npm install -g @github/copilot

~ % copilot
zsh: command not found: copilot
~ %

According to claude code

bin % pwd
/usr/local/Cellar/node/24.6.0/bin
bin % which node
/usr/local/bin/node
bin % ll /usr/local/bin/claude
0 lrwxr-xr-x  1 qhl  staff    52B Aug 19 12:20 /usr/local/bin/claude -> ../lib/node_modules/@anthropic-ai/claude-code/cli.js
bin % ll /usr/local/bin/copilot
ls: /usr/local/bin/copilot: No such file or directory

I think copilot did not create a soft link during npm installation.

@qinhanlei I needed to run these commands after installing node using brew.

npm config set prefix /opt/homebrew/
npm install -g @github/copilot

Basically, I am saying that the npm packages should be installed in the /opt/homebrew, which is part of the terminal environment's PATH. You might need to select a different one.

I'm going to close this issue under the assumption that this is an NPM config issue, and not a Copilot CLI issue. @qinhanlei, let us know if the above suggestion doesn't fix the issue for you!
