I would like a status line which I can design as I see fit

Proposed solution

Every x ms (configurable), run the specified script. The output of this script is rendered as a status line below the chat entry box.

There is experimental feature STATUS_LINE but no proper docs on how to actually set it up.

Hi! I'm trying to use the statusline feature in experimental mode but it's not working for me.

My setup:

• Copilot CLI version:
  0.0.421
• Experimental mode: enabled via /experimental
• Config (~/.copilot/config.json):

The script is executable and works perfect on CLAUDE CLI , but in COPILOT CLI when tested manually doesn't appear to be calling it (no output, no debug file created, no mentions in logs).

Could you provide setup instructions or point to documentation? What am I missing to get this working?

I managed to get it working. make sure STATUS_LINE flag is in your config and "type": "command" is set in status_line.

I managed to get it working. make sure STATUS_LINE flag is in your config and "type": "command" is set in status_line.

@swiatek25 here is the config that worked for me

  }
}

Also make sure your script has a shebang and is executable
