GitHub Copilot CLI returns 403 Forbidden after successful login (MCP disabled, Copilot Pro active)

Describe the bug

Hello GitHub Support,

Account: MrProLopstar. Copilot Pro (Student) is Active.

The new copilot CLI (0.0.330) authenticates (OAuth /login OK),
but model calls return HTTP 403. MCP is disabled on my side, yet I still see 403
when the CLI attempts to reach the GitHub MCP endpoint.

Environment:

• Node: v22.10.0
• Copilot CLI: 0.0.330
• MCP disabled (COPILOT_DISABLE_MCP=1), /mcp show is empty
• Cache reset: %USERPROFILE%.copilot
• Tried models: claude-sonnet-4 and gpt-5
• Also tried classic PAT with copilot scope via GH_TOKEN/GITHUB_TOKEN

Latest logs show:

• Error: POST https://api.individual.githubcopilot.com/mcp/readonly → 403 forbidden: access denied

It looks like my account is missing the entitlement/flag for the new Copilot CLI Chat/Models.
Could you please enable it for my account?

Hi @MrProLopstar - I'm sorry you had trouble logging into Copilot CLI. Since the time you reported the issue, we've made a bunch of changes around auth and model access. Would you mind upgrading to the latest version (currently 0.0.373) and see if you're still having issues?

@mxie Hello! Thanks for your reply!! I tested it, but it still doesn't work. It doesn't let me choose a model, even though I have all the models forced into my GitHub settings.
