Support for data residency unclear

Describe the feature or problem you’d like to solve

I want to use the MCP server with GHEC with Data Residency. While there is some reference to this in the README the complete solution in VS Code is a bit unclear. For example, is the remote server option and OAuth supported for this? If not, then that would be the request here ... to add support for this.

When I try to use this from VS Code it is taking me to a github.com login. It just is not completely clear if the only option is to run a local MCP server. I'd prefer to use the remote server and OAuth as PATs are heavily restricted

I believe this all works now. I use this configuration in VS Code:

Maybe the README and docs should just make this a bit more clear now that it works?

I think you also need to have this in your settings.json but for some people this seems to get setup automatically as part of the login process to the extensions. If the OAuth login to the MCP server is not working it is because this is not set.
