For Hokkien and Hakka, known as dialects of China, the resource on Native Language Extra Word List (《本土語言外字表》) lists required letters and combinations for two transliteration Latin scripts: Pe̍h-ōe-jī (a.k.a. 白話字) and Taiwanese Hokkien Romanization Solution (a.k.a. Tâi-uân Bân-lâm-gí Lô-má-jī Phing-im Hong-àn, 臺灣閩南語羅馬字拼音方案) for representing sounds in Hokkien and Hakka similar to hanyu pinyin for Mandarin Chinese.
